What is "Help Us Help Others"?
By buying second-hand books from Charlie's Tribe you are helping to recycle and reuse books. That helps the environment and you save money! And as if that's not enough, you'll also be helping those that are less fortunate than yourselves.
I still don't understand...
Well, many of us feel that donating to charities is important but we don't have large amounts of money to give away. Often we feel that a small donation just won't have any effect. If we each make a small donation, however, that could add up to a big donation. Each quarter, Charlie's Tribe will take the profit of our book sales and donate it to a specific charity. For these charities, every donation contributes to their daily work. That is how you help us to help others.
Which charities do you donate to and how do you choose them?
There isn't one specific charity, or group of charities, who will receive the donations. Each quarter we'll choose a charity we feel is truly helping others. Choosing a charity is not a simple decision and we'd like you to be part of that decision which is why we'll have a running poll on our website where you can vote for your preferred charity. We'd also love to hear from you if you think that there's a charity that we should add to our list of possibilities. Simply Contact Us.
How much of my money will be donated?
Charlie's Tribe will give 100% of the proceeds of book sales, minus expenses (such as Paypal fees, maintenance of the website), to the winning charity. Each quarter we'll post a short overview of the winning charity and the amount donated.
Can I donate my books to you?
Of course you can. Simply Contact Us and we will arrange either to collect the books or provide you with drop-off details. We'll also throw in a Charlie's bookshop gift voucher so that you can top up with some more books!
Remember to tell your friends, family, and colleagues, anyone you can think of, about the website. The more people buy books, the more charities will benefit!
